OK... having issues with rear passenger tire locks up when I apply the brakes (hard) on my 1978 all glass hatch w/4spd.
took it to the mechanic and he says the axel seals and bearings are leaking (getting on the brakes) and he's having issues finding correct parts... just the axel bearings and seals....
special order and what not...
any hints/help I can get and pass on to him that will help?
he also wants to know if there are any differences between years on the 6.75" rear ends
Yes, there is a difference. I think '78 was the change over in spline counts.
More later.

Hey Brian,
Just saw this post and was going to tell you I just did brakes on my beater blue driver and found EVERYTHING at O'Reilly's. They are awesome.
Dave
I have been going to the O"Reilly's since they opened and I have been very pleased with the service and how they stand behind their lifetime warrentys.... ;D

O'Reilly's is new here in town and have been finding this out too...
awhile back I stopped in right after they opened and was looking around. I've been real loyal to the parts store next door to work due to convenience and they have been real helpfull but... O'Reilly's had in stock the upper and lower "molded" radiator hoses on the shelf and in stock for the 78 for a great price. I bought em'. I also asked about a couple other misc parts just to see... and they either had or could get w/o special orders and extra shipping added on.
I think I'm really gonna like O'Reilly's
O O O O order-it!!!
