Title: Stock Upholstery Material
Post by: dave1987 on February 21, 2008, 02:06:13 PM
Does anyone know where I can get the original vinyl fabric of the 78's black bucket seats? It is the same as the style shown in the photo attached. The style I have is the same as in the upper right (black as well). I recall someone posting a source awhile back, but I cannot seem to find the post!

Hey dave1987:

Here is the link to the information about the fabric:

I posted some pics of the material that SMS sent me.  It is just like
the original material.

That's the thread I was looking for! Thanks 77pintocw! I just sent a request for samples. Hopefully I can get enough from them to do the seats.

Hey dave1987:

Excellent!

Also, I am just curious, when you get the material who are you going to use
to fabricate the new seat covers?

Thanks,

There is a place here in the town next door (Meridian), Andrew's Upholstery. He will do a pair of seats for around $550. If I have him redo the top and center flat vinyl on the back seat it will all even out close to $1000 if not less. Not to bad for new upholstery!

I've seen his work on hotrods and 50s - 70s cars and his work is amazing, well worth the money and long lasting!
