i love air tools! set an impact  on low (if snap-on 1/2 or 3/4) and rattle them out or drill a small 1/4 by 1/4 hole on the end and using a air chisel with the punch tip and hammer them out or if clear of fuel tank heat up the surrounding  area (not the bolt) with a torch and give it a good smack with a hammer. hope this helps

ps if u dont have air tools harbor freight!!! will get u buy

I changed out all my shocks about a month ago and I ended up using an Impact wrench on most of the bolts. An pneumatic impact wrench saves so much time with so many tasks!

The biggest problem I had with my shock replacements were the front shocks. The top mounting nut was so rusted I had to grip the sliding shaft of the shock, inside the springs, with a set of vice grip pliers and turn the top nut with a ratchet handle. The pressure alone wasn't enough to make it budge. 3/4 of a can of liquid wrench, 45 minutes of smacking the nut with a steel drift and mallet later, the nut started to budge with a lot of effort.

I was actually considering cutting the shaft between the nut and the mounting surface below it, but luckily for me the vice grips and the ratchet handle worked out. =P

the shock is off,I broke the studs off .Its too close to the floor and carpet to use heat.Tried an air chisel and it didnt work. The metal is two layers thick where the stud goes through. It turned loose of the first layer but not the second,so now it is spreading the layers apart trying to distort  the pocket.

I would remove the carpet and seats, then use a drill to get most of the bolts out. I would think that the worst case would be to weld in a new section to bolt to.

at this point i would use a die grinder and cut off wheel and cut the shock off and cut the center of the shock eye and bolt in half
