Hello Group,
I discovered tonight that there are two early types of Pinto grill.
I have never heard of this being mentioned so I guess it is a NEW discovery...??
Anyway the first grill is made much thinner and the second is a bit heavy-er and has ribs every 2 3/4 inches.
Kind of a cool little tid bit I thought??

There is a third kind too but its on my BBQ........................... :o
I wonder if they revised it due to structural integrity?
More info on the Pinto grill.
HOW TO SPOT A 71-3 grill from a 74-5 grill
Here is the 71-3 grill
Here is the 74-75 grill
As you can see the difference is the center grill mounting area. Also the 74-75 grill sticks out farther to accommodate the inside hood release.
BUT this is hard to determine on an ebay auction.
Look for the grill center mount in ebay photos to make sure you are bidding on the correct grill.

More Pinto grill differences.
The 1971-73 top bar of the grill has a recessed area "TOP" and the 74-75 grill does NOT.

Yup, That is what I have been trying to explain. HAHA...I see so many miss advertized grills on E-bay it is not funny. I need the 71-73 grill.
So if any of you nice guys have an extra one that you want to part with please let me know.
Thanks again Pintony for all your help the other day. And Thanks for posting these pics as it is great help to all of us.
Thanks
Jamie
