I have a carburetor from a 1976 ford pinto and I have been trying to find out what the 2 little screws on the side are for. Hopefully someone can help me. There is a screw on each side (not the idle mixture) one for each venturie. Upon disassembly they were tight, they have one hole in the end and a cross drilled hole, just trying to figure out what they do. They are a 2 piece screw with numbers on the with numbers on the barrell of the unthreaded portion. Thanks, Trish
i think they adjust float level
Here is an exploded view of the holley 5200.

The items you describe are the idle jets and idle jet holders.
Item number 47&49 are the holders and the items 48&50 are the idle jets.
Most carbs only have this item on the primarry side but some have both...
From Mr Know it all... ;D
