Title: 2.3 dipstick and fuel pump hole
Post by: volksnut on February 12, 2008, 09:43:27 PM
late model 1987 block, has rear sump and dipstick, on closer inspection with oil pan off, there's no plug to remove for front sump dipstick, it has to be drilled, and will it miss the oil pump?   Also no fuel pump hole, has the provision for one with 2 threaded holes but block is cast over, looking inside at the timing/fuel pump shaft it has the provision for the pump arm to ride on....has anyone cut out the hole for the pump through the block?  1 step forward and 2 steps back :look:

I drilled for the dipstick today, a little measuring and it was no problem missing the oil pickup tube...now I just need to find a good used dip stick tube...
