well the saga continues, I'm installing a late 1987 2.3 Mustang motor in my daughters 74 Mustang II, the trans is a RAD 4 speed from the 74 Mustang II, but it was formally a V6 car...on installing trans the output shaft bottoms out on crank before trans seats on bellhousing (3/4")...I do have the correct Mustang II bellhousing for the car....does the V6 RAD 4 speed trans have a longer shaft or is the later 2.3 have a shallower pilot bearing hole? Anyone run into this before? Could I just cut off 3/4" of the output shaft?
the 6 tranny input shaft is longer....Sorry

can it be cut, will it throw anything else out of wack...it does have the same gears though right
I have cut a few to make them fit for Ford Rangers but I can't say on your application... just measure.
lay a ruler across the bell housing and measure to the tip of the input shaft to the flat ruler on both trans....you'll see the difference quick.
Best of Luck
