Does anyone have a picture of a 79-80 body style that is lowered? I am thinking of dropping my 4cyl car, and would like to see how far to go to make it look right. Also, does racer walsh still supply lowering blocks?
I dropped my 73 1" with out affecting the Bump steer, But you could drop 2" with these spindles..

Racer Walsh still carries lowering blocks as of 5 months ago when my son bought some 1 1/2 inchers ($50) . They are too wide for the isolator bracket (74+) without modification. They are also surprisingly heavy solid alloy. I plan on making them swiss cheese with a drill press and adding a 1/2 inch correction wedge to keep the diff aligned.
Bobscat,
Try baggin' it. There are kits out that are made for the Mustang II. Thew hot rod guys use that front end all the time. As for the rear end, that could be fabbed' up. Good luck!
I lowered my 80 wagon 2.5 in front and 2 in the rear.with 2 in lowering blocks in the rear the axle hit the frame on a good bump, and speed bumps are my worst enemy.it does look good and the car handled like it was on rails but the bottom was taking such a beating that we are putting it back up.I'll try to find a photo to post.

Maybe you need a set of koni's set up on firm??
This is the only picture I have of my 79 wagon loaded on this computer. Sorry it is not a very good picture. 1 coil is cut off the front springs and I have Racer Walsh blocks on the back. It is about as low as I want to go as it is already a pain to jack up. I have to drive up on blocks to get my jack under the front cross member
SWEET.... (to be done in the voice of Eric Cartman)

Half a coil cut off in front, and 1" Walsh lowering blocks will both look good and ride ok. I've done 1/2 doz that way with no problems.

Koni doesen't make a shock that firm.I have about 2 in between the frame and axle and they are no help unless the shocks shave the top of the speed bumps off.
Heres a pic of my 80.It was the best I could find at this time.I do have some that really show how low it is,I'll keep looking.
Doc.
Cool, those are some nice lookin rides you guys posted. Thanks for the input to everyone! For you guys that have cut the coils, how much did this affect the ride? I have done this on other vehicles, with some not so great results, just wondering. I don't expect it to ride perfect, but on the other hand, I don't want a log wagon. (The better half may end up driving this one)
I cut a coil off mine and I do not think it affected the ride much. However it has been about 13 years since I lowered my wagon so I am used to it by now ;D
I am looking to convert my 75 to coil over shock in the front end. Speedway has a good kit. Anybody have any experience???
Why am I doing this. I want to control how much I will lower the front of the car. Ride height is adjustable. Also if I need more spring it is an easy swap.
