Title: Sport mirrors
Post by: Farmboy on January 27, 2008, 09:21:55 PM
Just a quick question, what year did the Pintos come out with the sport morrors??  I was working in E. Wa. last week and decided to go to the town of Warden to check out a junk yard, my friend needed a rearend for a jeep conversion so off we went. We get there and as always I ask if the have any Pinto's, the answer was yes, the got 1, he points me in the right direction and here sits a small bumper wagon, I walk around it and its in pretty bad shape and nothing I need but then look back and it has a primo set of sport mirrors and not the kind with the cable on the passenger side. A quick trip back to the truck and get a phillip's head screwdriver and now there mine. They look factory installed but I thought they were only on later models.
BTW theres a mustang II with the avacuato green interior with a good center console if anybody need's it

My 73 Sports Accent came with the sport mirrors from the factory. There is no cable adjustment for the passenger side. The driver side is adjustable from inside the car.

Winter blows here right now, the pass over I-90 has been closed for over a day now due to snow and avalanche danger. I'm ready for spring :showback:

Hey  skunky56,
When you say early 72? What do you mean???

The Sport mirrors came on Pintos W/delux interiors... BUT not always.
There are a couple of cars on Ebay right now that do not follow the norm.

I guess my 73 falls under not always.  It is a deluxe interior car but it did not come with sport mirrors.  It has them now though ;D

My 74 wagon with delux int. came only with the chrome mirror on the drivers side. What a bear to see on the passenger side when you put a set of panels on it. :lost:
