Title: T5 RIPPER shifter
Post by: rkk on January 24, 2008, 03:52:30 PM
Has anyone out there tried a B&M ripper shifter on there T5 in a pinto.  Just got my T5 in and was thinking about getting  one of these to improve the shifting and give me a shorter throw on the shifts. Jegs and Summit both sell them.
I bought a racer walsh for my car when it had the stock engine and trans in it and it made all the differnce in the world.  I was hoping this might do the same thing for the T5. :fastcar:

I don't have a Ripper but I do have a Pro-5o on my T-5 and it works great. real solid feel and positive engagement in all the gears. I would recommend it.

I don't have a Ripper either but I am running a Tri-ax  in one of my Mustangs and a Hurst in the other.  Both work great, the Hurst has a shorter throw but sometimes does not want to go into reverse easily.  I think any aftermarket shifter would be better than the stock shifter.  FYI, the SVO and Turbo Coupe T-5's came from the factory with Hurst shifters.
