As somebody who was never lucky enough to ride or drive in a V6 Pinto, I was wondering how well they performed and what sort of MPG they got compared to regular old four popper Pintos?
Hello Doug,
I had the V6 in a 74 Capri...
Seemed real smooothe torque band.
I would say the Capri was a heavyer car than the pinto too...
only about 16 mpg

I dont know about the V6 models, but mine had a 302 V8 and it still got firly decent milage. It had a 600CFM Holly carberator on it. I wish I still had it because I would of went to E85 fuel injection. I still managed about 30 MPG on the highway ay 80 MPH.
I drove a v6 for years and a 2300 for years...never drove a 2000 or a 1600. Can't say I noticed a fuel consumption difference between the two. The 2300 did have a better top end then the 6...I could cruise at 100 mph with the four for miles...The six would get hot and the oil preasure would dip down.....due to the top end being lubed through the center cam bearings. The six could pull a trailer better..due to low end torque...which I did frequently. I did like the gear to gear timing arrangement in the six instead of the belt in the four. The four was allot easier to work on. Do you have a specific reason for asking??
