There's evidently going to be a pretty big station wagon meet in Sturbridge, MA this comning June. I've even seen Hemmings editor R. Lentinello beating the drums about it in one of his recent editorials--might turn out to be a pretty big deal???
The dates are June 18th to the 21st, 2008, and the wagon show on Saturday the 21st is reportedly open to the public (not clear if that applies to spectators only?).
Here's two pages of apparently official info:

Anyway, I'm thinking we'll try to drive our '73 Pinto Squire up there for the 6/21 show...

Is it only open to station wagons? Sturbridge is only maybe two hours from where I am.

I don't know Smeed--I was just passing along the info--I have nothing to do with the event whatsoever.
Say, where are you located? We've done a couple of Connecticut-area Pinto mini-gatherings the past two summers within established cruise nights:
2006 in Colchester, CT: http://members.aol.com/cgextras/ColchesterPintosJune2006.html
2007 in Glastonbury, CT: http://members.aol.com/cgextras/GburyPintosJuly2007.html
Maybe we can try to get something similar going again for this coming summer...
Happy Pinto-ing!
Maybe?
WE WILL!
Bill
Im in Torrington. Im up for any pinto meet in the area :)
Hey Smeed, was that your white Pinto in the Torrington cruise 8/22 that I noticed on the "100% Kulture" web site picture gallery?

VERY NICE!!!
Also, congrats to Bill from RI for Best Original Unrestored at the ISWC Convention in Sturbridge, MA in June with his fine-looking '77 Squire--we just scanned some stuff from the latest ISWC newsletter and posted it on the CPR page:

(also, ahem, a small blurb on our '73 Squire's appearance in the latest Hemmings Classic Car)
Best regards and happy Pinto-ing,
Steve from Stony Creek, CT
Haha yes it is! I was sitting in that chair in the background for most of the night. I remember the 100percentkulture rat rod being one of my favs.
That's cool Smeed--that's a *very* nice looking car--including the engine, that "100% Ian" also photographed:

I'll add your '73 Runabout (via the 100% Kulture images) to the CPR page next chance I get.
Have fun and hope to run into you one of these days.

Noticed in the just-received Hemmings Motor News (that's the "traditional" Hemmings--not one of the glossy mags they also publish) an article by, I think, R. Lentinello, about the ISWC Sturbridge, MA convention, and Bill from RI's beautiful '77 Pinto Squire was also given special recognition, including a picture.
I don't have that copy of HMN in front of me right now, so I can't report the date of the issue (I'll guess it's October '08), nor any other details, but I'll attempt to follow up when I'm able.
For now, tip of the hat once again to Bill from RI for the positively bang-up job representing Pintos at the ISWC 2008 Convention...
Thats a really nice looking wagon! It seems like NE Pinto heads are getting some nice coverage.
Hey Ho,
Just a quick note that I've updated my profile & sig. line with the new CPR address: http://home.comcast.net/~shorelinesteve/Pintos/CPR.html (necessary after our beloved AOL shut down their web hosting at the end of October). We have a lot more work to do, but for now glad to have gotten re-started on the rebuilding process...
And a necessary "plug" here also for our local CT Pinto "BMOC," Bill Rainey, who just got a very useful interactive site going for CT Pinto and Bobcat heads: http://ctpintobobcat.com/
Over and out for now!
