We're racing a Pinto pony stock at our local dirt track. We want to run an 8" diff so we can have 4.11 ratio. The tech guy says that the 8" didn't come in 2300 pintos, so we can't run it. We actually have another pinto with a 2300 and an 8" that we have offered to show the tech guy, but he says that it could be a swap and that he needs to see actual factory paperwork proving that the 8" was available in 2300 pintos before he will let us run that diff. Can anyone help us out on this?
I'm afraid that the 2300/8" combo was a swap job.
In 1975-80 the only 8 inch you could get in a Pinto was behind a V6 engine.
