Title: map light won't work
Post by: r4pinto on January 06, 2008, 03:45:26 PM
I got a question regarding the map light/ dome light that was optional in the Pintos.

I bougt one off quickrick a long while back & finally was able to get a bracket for it. I ran the extra wire I needed for it, mounted it on the roof, and the dome light worked perfectly, but the map light would not work. I checked the bulb on a known good circuit & the bulb is fine, the wire I added has power like it should, and it grounds like it should. When I took the light off the combo unit I was able to get it working, but when it was mounted like it should it doesn't work. Could it be the switch for the map light itself and if so is there a way to fix these?

Problem fixed. I found the contacts on the switch for the maplight were both corroded & pushed down too much. I took the switch apart & fixed it.
