Title: New Guy here with a new Pinto
Post by: Kerry67 on January 03, 2008, 07:01:07 PM
Hey everone,  I just joined the forum because last night I just got a 1977 Pinto Wagon and figured this would be a good place to find some stuff for it.  I am just trying to make a daily driver out of it.  I got it for $500 and it runs ok.  Good enough to get me back and forth to work which is what I want it for.  It needs Carpet and some interior pieces such as the molding that goes along the doors that the carpet goes under, new rear mat, and a few more odds n ends.  Can anyone point me in the right direction.  Is there anyplace that make repop parts like for every other collector car  out there ?

Here are a couple shots from the ad that I found it.  When I get it cleaned up, I'll post some more.

Thanks,

Kerry Hudson

Welcome aboard. Nice looking 77 wagon. Unfortunately Pintos are just starting to get to be a popular car to have (aside from here that is). With that in mind there aren't any places that make "repop" parts for our cars.. yet. Best thing you can do is what we all have had to do at one time or another & that's find something similar & make it work.

Hello Kerry,
Your 77 Pinto wagon looks great.
Thank you for joining to help keep the Pinto site going.
The carpet can be purchased through ACC
http://www.accmats.com/Commerce/Search.aspx
Or Ebay has a better price...
You will just have to find the door sils as there are no re-pops and I have not found a suitibal replacement on any other auto so far.
On my Purple Pinto I made them from Oak.

Kerry,
That's your car....ooops.....I mistook it for a different car. It's a High_Horse thing. I don't think we have many cars that color. You did good!!!!!!!   And welcome!!!!!

Thanks everyone.....You have a cool forum here.   Don't let the pics fool you.  My Pinto looks ok but it is a cheap-o Deluxe Home paint job that is basically all orange peel.  But for $500 it gets me to and from work a hell of a lot cheaper than my F-150 or my 67 Lemans (which I will never drive to work anyway).  plus, I always liked Pintos and it is kind of fun to drive.  I'll clean it up and get some more shots posted.  It is supposed to rain here all week end so it may be a week or so.

Cheers !

Here are a few shots from today.  It still needs a bath.  Only body damage is front drivers fender.

It is a 77 Lemans that I just sold.  I bought it a couple weeks ago for $400 drove it home 3 miles and sold it on Ebay and now it is going to Canada this week.  I also have a BEAUTIFUL 1967 Lemans that I got at the ICA collector car auction last March here in AZ.  Kind of my hobby to buy and sell old cars.  Keeping the Pinto though....

Howdy! You have a good looking car there. Mine cost more than twice as much and was in much worse condition. You can find carpet replacements on ebay. I would love to have a wagon!
