Rear springs from which cars do suit Pinto?

I don't think they have a DIRECT interchange with any other car. Also, it matters if it is a wagon or non-wagon as the springs are different. JCWhiplash should have them.

Mustang II's take a spring with a different part number. I had a set years ago that I was not able to use and I can't remember why they were different, BUT there are people on this site that have stated that they work. Maybe the ones I had were not really from a M-II like I was told they were?

FACT: Wagon ones WILL NOT INTERCHANGE with non-wagons. They are a few inches longer and will not hook to the shackles.

For info ONLY:

Here is a listing for the M-II springs:

Here is the one for the WAGON:

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Search?catalogId=10101&storeId=10101&sku=zx967575rf&searchbtn.x=15&searchbtn.y=12

They no longer have a listing for the non-wagon springs, but in a live chat they said they might still be able to get them. If you attempt to order them be sure get '4 leaf' not 5.

Also, you could TRY to see if M-II ones will work.

Be aware that the set I got from them years ago had one with the pin in the wrong location. This put the rear at an angle, and I did not notice it until I was driving the car and the steering wheel was rotated. I contacted them to let them know. They were good about it and sent me another before they had me return one so I was able to get two that matched. Fortunately the third they sent was correct and I had a good pair. Check the pin locations BEFORE installing them no matter where you get them.

Maybe Summit or Jegs will have springs that will work. Other than removing one to measure it, I can't tell you all the dimentions.

Yeah, I installed a set of JC Whitney springs on my car in highschool, and they fit perfect and were pretty reasonable on cost.  Come to think of it, if I remember right, they were stenciled with a Ford logo when I got them, or said Ford on them somewhere, I remember laughing that Ford and JC Whitney must have merged, hahahaha.  Worked great, but I don't think they came with bolts and bushings.

just happened to run across them on JC Whitneys site, and they are down to $65!!  I think I am going to pick up a pair for the Pinto here pretty soon
