I want new wheels and I was told that I need .62 offsets which aren't made anymore. I didn't notice any discussion of offsets here or elsewhere but did see lots of talk of swapping wheels from other models with the wrong offsets (.39).
The Ford Car Shop Manual gives wheel specs as:
Size: 13x5
No. of Bolts: 4
Bolt Circle Diameter: 4.25"
Offset: .62"
What are the rimifications (couldn't help myself) of mounting the wrong offsets?
Does anyone know who makes wheels with .62 offset for Pintos?
Thank you in advance of any help you may provide.
Hello Bro,
Anywheel that will bolt up W/O rubbing the fender ot suspension will work.
I am running 15X6 in the front and 15X8 1/2 on my Purple 72 and 16X8 on all 4 corners of my green Pinto.
I have run 13X5.5 13X6 13X7 and 13X8 rims on my Pintos in the past.
Planning a set of 17s in the future...
Try to stay away from front wheel drive wheels...

Thanks Pintony, You are always very helpful. Clearance won't be an issue for me with these narrow ones and I'm pretty sure they do bolt on. Due to my confusion re: offset I wasn't very clear with my question and I was worried about a small variance from the stated bolt circle diameter of 4.25". The tire shop measured the distance between two bolt holes and came up with a marginal difference distance between bolts and hole pattern of new rims and said they would match but that it wasn't ideal.
I'm a bit embarrassed to be sticking to the original narrow wheels and tires but this set will be good for daily driving until I finish some much needed body work and painting. At that time I'll invest in something that better compliments the looks and use these for winter driving.
Happy New Year!
