It's a nice Pinto, but a few guys on here, like Original74 have Pintos with less mileage on them. I think his 1980 has something like 500 miles on it. Since they're paying around 13 grand on ebay for a mint Pinto he cam prolly get that too.

OK, That is a very nice original car BUT, I cant see where it is worth 14 Grand! Maybe if it was an all original 5000 mile Sprint it Might be able to command that kind of cash but not a basic, no option car.

I agree!!!
Base model = less money.

What's with all the negativity?

Pintos have been going up in value for a while; you never know. There have been two (that I know of) that sold over 10k.

BTW: The more they get for that car, in theory, the more the rest are worth.

They can ask any price they want, the market will dictate what the 'value' is.

You got that right there Bill

If they get 13 grand for it, then it's worth 13 grand to whoever buys it. I'm sure mine didn't seem like it was worth buying for $400 almost two years ago, but it was for me. Besides, doesn't it only matter that Pintos are getting more valuable and that we enjoy the cars?

Well... I might pay 13 for a "Like Rob Says" a Mint Sprint or an MINT 80 Rallye all optioned out...
But come on 13 for a base model Pinto... I'm supprised it does not have the rubber mat instead of carpet....
That 74 has been on there all 2007.

Its a very nice car but you could probably go to cali, (no rust) and get any year pinto you want and then spend the time and money to rebuild it and customize it and look just as good for the same money, or less.  Granted there would be alot of work and time in it but it would be exactly what YOU want. Now i do have to agree its probably worth alot, and EVENTUALLY somone will buy it or else it will sit until theyre so sick of seeing it sitting there that they reduce the price until somone does buy it.  Id like to have it... but its not worth 14k to me... :) If it were a mint 76 with a 2.3 and 4 speed, 8" with trac loc, AC, PS, PB, FM Radio, delux interior, etc etc....id almost beg the bank for loan... :) Id like a 2.3 efi turbo in it...and 5 speed... but id have to add that myself.

My car isn't nearly as nice as the ones mentioned here. it's got some rust, nothing unsafe though. It's got dents on every panel, I bought it pre-wrecked. But until recently it ran and drove like a brand new car. With that going for it, I couldn't sell it at $500. People expected me to GIVE it away.
$14k is wishful thinking for a base car in one of the less loved years. (74-76) Though it's what I WISH my car looked like. (well except the steelies & dog dishes)
It's hard to believe that my non-P/S, non-P/B car is actually fairly well optioned! It's got the big motor, the auto, and the chrome pkg. Kicking around my shed is the original AM radio too.
