After 13 yrs of sitting and 2 yrs of swapping out the auto for a 4sp. A 78 Pinto lives again! So far the starter has died and the fuel filter keeps varnishing over, but it runs and is on the road! :fastcar:

Well looks like the screen in the tank is plugging up. I installed and went through three universal filters so far and now I'm not getting flow enough from the tank. I used the air hose on the fuel line and it runs like a raped ape. But I know it will just plug again so have to run the fuel out and pull the screen off. Then I'll install a large universal filter before the pump.
Still waiting to get it out on the freeway to check the speedo after the tranny swap.
Finally was able to go for a check out drive. The screen in the tank hasn't plugged again yet. I'm going to run it about out of gas before I tear into the tank and that screen.
Stopped at Walmart and some guy came up and said "Is that a Pinto?".. yes it is.. "Wow it's great to see one still on the road".. I think so too!
Looks like I will have to tear into the tranny to correct the speedo.
