Title: Variable Boost Controller on 2.3 T?
Post by: pintoguy76 on December 18, 2007, 09:27:43 PM
I was looking around JEGS and stumbled on this.

Will this work on a 2.3 Turbo? It'd be nice to be able to change the boost from inside the car, based on the octane in the tank.

Here is a less fancy one:

Either one will work, but both are a waste if you want to run 18lbs of boost because all you need to do is remove the BCS from the 'vac' system (loop the hose with it bypassed). This item will 'install' in the same location as the stock BCS.

IMHO: You are better off running 92-93 octaine all the time. If you don't, MAKE SURE you have the KS CONNECTED ALL THE TIME.

I kinda forgot about this post. For some reason it didnt show up when i clicked the "Show replies" button. I cant get 93 here in very many places like i used to be able to. 91 is about the best i can do. Can i run 18psi on 91/93 octane?  What kind of HP would that bring it up to? 250? I have no problem paying the extra $ for fuel...as long as its not $6 a gallon like the 110 octane is.  :o (that i can only get at one station anyways)
