Title: ROLLER ROCKER ARMS
Post by: dick1172762 on December 15, 2007, 09:03:03 PM
I've read several places lately, that the Ranger roller rocker arms can be used on any cam from Ford, including the stock Pinto cam. Anyone out there have any thing on this. I know from past experience, that the 2.0L engines were ok to use the 2.0L roller rocker arms on any and all cams from Ford and aftermarket. I ran the 2.0L roller arms on several Racer walsh cams with no problems at all.

The last time I heard it ws bad to run a slider cam with roller rockers & vice versa. Besides if you're going to go through all that trouble, you might as well replace the cam with the roller cam since the old slider cam is probably worn out anyways.

+1!!
My cam just went comletely round on the #1 exhaust lobe. The 2300 is infamous for poor oiling at the cam

I've owned 17 Pintos over the last 35 years (4 were race cars) and never lost a single cam. Rod bolts YES!!!!, but never a cam. I know on a 2.0, it made no difference which rocker arm you used. The roller 2.0 arms came off German taxi cabs.
