Hello all Im looking to upgrade my carborater on my 1980 pinto 2.3l,it has a 2brl on it,..... can I put a 4brl on it or will this take modifications?(intake maifold etc) Is there any reasonalbe priced carbs sold out there? It seems like everywhere I look they dont have much selection for this car??? :wow: If the next clerk gives me that weird look when I say pinto Im gonna taser them! :police:
the carb upgrad on my straight 6 maverick (4.1) was actually getting rid of the 1bbl so i could swap on a HW 5200 2bbl like they had on pintos. since the heads have really bad flow on these 6's i know they couldnt take much more carb anyway. i dont know about the 4's though
good luck

What's the reason to putting a 4 barrel? worn carb? Want more power? Anyways, I'm sure there is one but I'm not too sure of the type. Check with quickrick on here. He used to have an 80 hatchback that I believe he used a 4 barrel on. Not too sure, but pretty sure.
Taser eh? I'd like to see that one. lol It could make yu tube! lol Hell, I had someone in a parts store last year actually tell me I didn't know what a Pinto was, even after I told him I owned one. Questioned me to death telling me I had the wrong model. I coulda used a taser myself then. lol
A holley 2300 2bbl bolts directly to the 2300 manifold, you just have to remove the EGR plate.

First one is for an automatic car from Canada.
Second one is for an automatic car from anywhere except Califonia or Canada
Third one is for a California car...(6500? anyone?)
Fourth one is for a standard shift car from anywhere except California or Canada
That being said, I would say either the first (ZX510355WF) carb or the second (ZX510443PF) carb.
THANKS douglasskemp! ;D I appreciate your help! I ordered It tonight from jc Whitney, I cant Wait to get it :fastcar:

this is the best way to go for more power. u can also use a holley 350 2bbl with a spacer and the bigger motor craft 2bbl

and the bigger motor craft 2bbl
Thats what I've ran from a 351 windsor, it ran pretty decent on a modified motor.
I,m running the Holley on a basically stock 2.3.For a stock motor it flat moves.Ask Farmboy.
