Title: engine/tranny swap
Post by: rbohm on June 09, 2004, 03:46:48 AM
8)has anyone ever swapped a T5 behind a V6 pinto? if so what problems did you encounter? also has anyone ever considered swaping a later 4.0 from a ranger or explorer into a pinto?

T5 was behind the 3.8 Supercoupe motor in the Thunderbirds. You should consider doing that swap, i'd love to see a 3.8 supercharged in a Pinto....it would go like hell. They also have alot of aftermarket performance parts for them.

8)well actually i was thinking of keeping the 60 degree V6(2.8, 2.9, 3.0, 4.0). while the 3.8 is an interesting idea, i also thing the 60 degree V6 is a better settup fro the pinto.

ok, do a taraus SHO 3 liter or 3.2 liter conversion! Those thing scream....there are a couple of conversions i've seen in other cars, one was supercharged, another had a twin turbo set up (using IHI turbos from 87-88 thunderbird turbo coupe) many parts options with those engines also.  This link may help  http://www.moranav6racing.com/
