The C/W I just got rid of had factory gauges and a 4 spd. I pulled it all apart before I decided to attempt to install the center console for the a/c controls in my tan Pinto with the 5spd. As T-5 installers know, the shifter is forward of the stock shifter, and the 'controls' console is very long. I originally installed the controls in a modified 'regular' console, but I did not like it looking 'different'. Anyway, I modifed a 'control' console and bracket to move it forward. It is close to the shifter, but clears. The console I used has an area on it that looks like it was rubbing the shifter boot about like it is now.
Can someone that has this combo please post a photo of their stock 4spd. shifterboot and heater control mount center console so I can see how it looks? Please let me know what gear the car is in for the photo too please.

Here is a picture of my 4spd Bobcat before I started parting it out. I am 99% sure it was in 1st gear when the picture was taken. Hopefully this picture helps some.
Thank you.
Works for me if it is in 1st or no gear; that's kind of where I thought it would be.
Mine is now a little closer, but still better that what I had and with the all black interior, it does not 'show' as much. I still can slide my finger between the shifter mount block and the console in 1st, 3rd and 5th, but the boot touches in those gears. If I can I will post a photo of what I did to make it fit; it was not easy to slide it back under the dash the 1.375" needed to get it where it now is.

Here is my "after" with the car out of gear.
