I have a 1975 Pinto 4 spd and it has a shifter on it that has Hurst engraved on the side of the stick and has a a Hurst engraved reverse pull up ring. So what can anybody tell me about it?
I need an inner boot [torn] and an outer boot [ruff]. it appears to have an adjustable ring at the base of the shifter and a bushing under that ring that is split on one side.
Any thing you can tell me it would be appreciated.

After my stock shifter broke off at the C clip groove, I replaced it with this Hurst shifter. It was hard getting home while trying to shift with the remaining 1" nub. Anyway you have a Hurst shifter for the German 4 speed with a Hurst part number of 348 0001 according to the instruction sheet. I believe Hurst is now owned by the Mr. Gasket Company but I could not find a direct web site for the Hurst shifters to see if they offer replacement parts.
The outer boot is the stock Pinto item and did not come with the shifter. The top hand ball unscrews from the shifter. Once the top hand ball is removed, you get access to the tiny allen screw holding the internal cable for the reverse lockout. Removing this allen screw will allow you to remove the reverse lockout ring. With the top ball and the lockout ring removed, the outer boot can be replaced with out tearing it. I found the allen screw too late and forced the boot over the ring and tore the boot.
The small inner boot came with the shifter. Mine is torn completely around and it does not affect operation. Just clean and grease every couple of years depending on your conditions.
The white nylon pivot ball at the base of the shifter looks okay. If you look close at that "crack" on the right side, it is a slot for the reverse lockout mechanism (pull up on the lockout ring while watching that slot).
The nylon "adjustable ring" at the base just holds the shifter down to the transmission and should be tight (no adjustments). When new, the shifter came with a metal locking ring with bendable tabs that fit on this nylon piece. Its function was to prevent it from unscrewing. I do not see it on yours. Just check it tightness and it should be okay.
Trying photo attachment of shifter instructions.
That info is so appreciated, thank you very much.
