Need more help. I have some pictures to show my engine compartment. The reality is that I don't have any vacuum lines run and the drawings I have are not much help.
specifically there is not a hoes to the vacuum advance, where does that come from. Anything else you see will be appreciated.
Oh second question, sorry. I have that ford motorsport chrome Valve cover, what is the correct breather that goes on it. The one I have one it sits to high. Or in other words the bulge at the bottom is too tall.
Thanks for the help.

Just to the left of your idle screw there is a tube that is the same size as the tube on your dist.... thats the one. If you want to be sure start the engine and put your finger on the tube...you will feel no suction...when you give the engine a little goose you will feel suction and then it will taper off. That is the one. I see you tossed the choke....good!!!!What is that red stuff??? Sealer??? Carefull..

I have a scan of the vaccuum lines, not real picture mind you but boxes and lines from a manual. They are on the puter at the house though. The gubmint won't let us use thumb drives anymore either so if you still want that let me know and I wil mail them to you.

That sealer was there when I got the car. I believe it is a plug off for the EGR. Thanks for the info on the vac dist line.
Steve I would like a copy if that would work for you.
My concerns are that since this was setup for an EGR and that has been deleted will the dist have too fast a curve on it?
As for the choke I would like to take credit for that but it was gone when I got it. I have driven cars with no choke before. Just a bit tougher to get start when it is really cold.

Any body on the oil breather????

I see your fuel filter is missing too. I hope you have one elsewhere.
You are right, the fuel filter is missing. I have been working on the wiring, heater hoses and vacuum lines. Fuel system is next. Thanks for the heads up.

No, the elimination of the egr will not affect vacuum curve. And by the way, just run that line directly from the spark port on the carb to the distributor and not through any of those thermal vac. control valves. The pvc line goes to a vac. tube of equal size at the base of the carb. Again just put your finger over the tube and this time you want to feel constant vacuum at idle. The reason this line goes into the carb base and not the intake tree is to mix the crankcase vapor as evenly as possible with all the cylinders. Now, with that valve cover you need to make sure that air is going into the crankcase somehow. You might need to drill a hole at the other end of the cover to let air in or is there another place air gets in. Anyway the air has to circulate through the crankcase to remove moisture from the oil.

Sorry I have not gotten back to you. good info. I get the vacuum line deal.
It appears that there is another breather line coming up from the block below the intake manifold and that goes into the intake manifold, I can still put the line from the valve cover to my air cleaner through a filter. But what I need is a breather that will actually fit the VC.
A few loose ends and I thinkg this baby is ready to fire up.... hoepfully :amazed:
