Title: Rim question...
Post by: Chevelle Kid on September 24, 2007, 07:41:43 PM
I'm thinking of getting rims and tires from a '94 V6 'Stang I was wondering if there would be any clearance issues or bolt pattern issues? My shop teacher (the one who has the car) says they're 4 lug but I want to know if they'll just bolt on? The tires are brand new and he's selling them for $50 so I think it's worth a shot!

Thanks!

Ben

'94-up is the small 5lug pattern
'74-93 are 4 on 4-1/4, same as the Pinto. HOWEVER the aluminum wheels from the '87-93's need spacers to keep from hitting the radius arm @ full lock.  Of course anything 74-78 will bolt on np. The later stuff has a different offset.

My vote for the Pinto is the new Ansen Sprint slotted dish wheels, in 17". VERY retro, and period correct too.

I,ve also found that the early Ford Escort wheels swap out too, but only the first couple years or so.  Matter of fact, I have a doughnut spare out of one I used on my 77 M2.  Takes up less space than the full size spare.  I'll probably switch it to the wagon so I can use the well for add'l tool storage.
