Dose the core support have to be cut out to put a 289 in a pinto. I was told it is not a good idea to cut the core support out.
Are there any other ways to v-8 a pinto than to cut this out?
Links to pics would help me a lot!
you dont HAVE to cut it to stab a 289....the 74 and up had a little more room than the 71-73 Pintos...

On the 74 and later I think it could be done without cutting, if you have the car high enough.
My car had it cut before I got it so I can't say for sure.

when you say to stab is that in two pieces or engine and Tanny as one
Pintoches,
My 302 and c4 go into my 77 together with the front wheels up on ramps. The bell housing lower edge is what you have to finagle but it goes. You do have to adjust the trans tunnel a bit with a bfh. 78Pinto showed somewhere in his latest engine mod thread how he modified the core support so his eng/tran unit would slide right in.

I've had V8's in 71, 72,77,79 ... I can put the engine in with tranny or seperate....
