Title: Cylinder head question
Post by: He Man on September 23, 2007, 02:11:11 PM
I was wondering about 2.3 cyl heads.  What is the deal with the SVO cyl head?  What makes it so good?  Is the thunderbird turbo coupe the same one? What is the deal with the d port heads? are they the best flowing heads?  If not what is the best original cast cyl head?  Thanks

The SVO head is NO different... Than any other 2.3 TURBO head.
BEST head for Turbo...\
The Esslinger aluminum head is probally the best flowing head..
W/O spending a month on a flow bench porting a cast head.

As Tony mentioned, all the 'turbo' heads are the same. The only 'real' difference from a 'normal' head is the hardened seats and the better valves.

But... you can still really impress your non Ford friends by telling them you have a genuine SVO head, they'll never know
