Hello, Does anyone know where I can buy a new radiator for my 1978 Bobcat. It has the 2.8l v6 with a/c. I live in Minneapolis and all that I can find are radiators for the 2.3l. Any help would be great. THANKS Tim
Hey Tim from Minneapolis, Brian from Hibbing MN here... Not sure if this will help but found this on ebay. It may not be the exact part you need as it doesn't list the V6 Bobcat but I have often found if you contact the seller he may have the part you want and just not be putting them up on Ebay. Also because it does list the V6 Pinto it "may" work...
I will stop in the auto parts store next to work tomorrow and see what they might be able to find. I called and talked to the part-timers and they don't show a listing but if I stop in during the day and ask guy's that know their stuff they might be able to find it in their extended options... pulled rabbits out of their hats for me many a times...

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the E-bay listing. The radiator they show is not the same one as the one I have. They list this radiator will fit the 2.3 and the 2.8 motors, even though they are different . So I called them and they told me that's what their computer shows. They could not tell me which sides the inlet and outlets were on. I think it might be the wrong one. If you don't mind I would like to see what your guys can come up with. Thanks for the help. Tim
I'll check in the morning and see what they can come up with...
If the immage in the photo is correct??
It "IS" the V6 rad....
From Pintony
I know the upper hose on the 2.3 rad. is on the drivers side, and the 2.8 has it on the pass. side. I don't know about the lower, but what ever side the hose connects to the engine is where it should be.
That being said, I KNOW for a FACT that a 67-68 V8 stang rad. WILL DIRECT BOLT INTO a Pinto, you just need to see where the hoses connect, and what size. Flex hoses come with ends that are different sizes if needed. I say all this because there are a BUNCH of them out there and are fairly cheap, and had I known this before I......

OK... Here's what I found...
The Auto Value next door doesn't show a part # or availability thru normal channels...
However in one of their extended options the Northern Radiator catalog shows a part # 427 for the Merc Bobcat w/V6. We called on Friday but computers were down and they couldn't confirm availability. They were to call back later but had not by the end of the day on Friday. I stopped in this morning and one of the employees gave me the name and phone # for the company who does list a part #.
It's Northern Factory Sales out of Wilmer, MN and 1-800-328-8900 and again the part # is 427
so with all this in mind you could....
1) You could try calling them on Monday for availability and to see if they will ship and sell directly to the public.
2) If they don't you could try calling auto parts stores in the area and see if they can get it for you if they can order from Northern Radiator.
3) Final option is to contact me and I can hook you up with the Auto Value next door as they can take orders and payment w/credit card over the phone and either drop ship (if it's an option) or ship the item once they receive it.
Hope this helps....
IIRC: The Modine numbers are the same. Also, when I got my '4banger with air' radiator from NAPA, they said the book showed the V/6 and the 4l with air to be the same radiator, and they are not.
The #426 is the 4L with air, just to let you know.
I would go with a older Mustang one if I were to do it again. Mustangs Unlimited has them for well under $200.

Hello, I called Northern Factory Sales, they said that don't carry that radiator anymore. I appreciate all your help. I decided to go with the 1968 mustang radiator. Thanks Tim
