That is really funny, because when I was in High school, I thought about doing the same thing, but using a wagon. I would graft the rear pillars and deck lid off of a Mustang II, and use the 75-78 Bobcat front end. I was going to do it up as a V8/C4 with all the options a Pinto or Bobcat could have had at the time, like A/C, P/S, PDB, all the luxury of a velour interior, and some 13" lacy spoke wheels. Then I'd replace all the badging with something I never came up with. Sometimes my mind is much more ambitious than my wallet.
Below is an idea of what they'd look like. Yes, I know most kids with crayons can draw better than me.
This is from the olden days of FordPinto.com...

Remionds me of the factory Chrysler "K car" limos: http://www.allpar.com/eek/k/limo.html
I would love to see a Pinto wagon limo, but I think the Bobcat front end has a more "formal" look that would lend itself better to a limo.
I LOVE that photo Scott!
Anyone who knows me knows that while I love my Pinto, I also have a penchant for Lincolns and Rolls Royces. Seemingly dissimilar interests, I'll admit... but a formal Pinto limousine... now wouldn't that be something?
The Mercury Bobcat has more "elegant" front styling and I would think if you used a wagon as the donor for the front end, it would help you keep the roof flat. A fiberglass form and a formal vinyl roof would go a long ways toward pulling front and rear together and making it sharp. And you'd simply have to recreate the famous RR rear writing tables (perhaps in a more common material - I know... woodgrained formica!). Wow! What a project that would make!
With all the geniuses on this site, we should be able to pool our resources and produce one of these for real by the 40th Anniversary meet in Carlisle in 2011!
Dwayne (maybe I've had too much to drink :drunk:)
I think that that is really stretching things!
