Both of my door's have scratched glass due to weathered window felt strips that have cracked and dried out. The driver's side is the worst you will ever see, but the passenger's side isn't TO bad.

Has anyone here ever used this kit from JC Whitney with results?

I'd like to restore my glass but I don't want to end up replacing the entire thing in the end.

I used the Eastwood version on the rear window of my 67 Mustang.  It worked but don't use the drill.  Because the compound was really abrasive, I ended up doing it by hand because the drill left too many swirl marks.  Using the foam piece in checker board motion did the trick for me. 

I'm guess that after the powder is diluted, it's pretty much a form of liquid sandpaper then?

Yes, the stuff I had was pretty abrasive however, it has been quite a few years since I had the windows out on my Mustang so I do not remember exactly.  I remember I screwed up the first batch I mixed.  The second batch worked however using the drill screwed up the glass.  At the time, I thought I had to replace the window because the swirls were so deep.  I decided to "sand" it down by hand to see if I could fix the swirls.  I was amazed how quickly I had it fixed.  It did not take long and you cannot tell.  I imagine it is a little thinner now but it has been probably over 10 years and I have not had any problems.

I'm gonna have to rememer this.... I have the same problem on my 77 wagon.

Same here. I was going to pay $20 per door to get good glass from the salvage yard!
