Hey Jeff, Pintony hasn't been active on the fordpinto forum for quite some time, this post you replied to was from back in 2007. Just letting you know so when he doesn't reply... you know why.
"...Pintony hasn't been active on the fordpinto forum for quite some time,..."
It has been since early March, 2008. Nearly 6 years.
. Why don't you tell Pops why he was banned from posting. I don't think there's more than a few of us that have been on here long enough to know.

it's not important, the ban was lifted long ago and he knows it and is not worried about it. I've told him myself many a time, I talk to him on a regular basis. He quit all forum and online activity shortly after the incident and is a happier guy for it.
Wow, must have been pretty nasty...
For all of you that don't know, Tony was the final word on Pintos and Pinto parts. He knew every thing about them and would give you the shirt off his back if he though you needed it. Was it nasty? Only to Tony.
Tony gave me the Readers Digest version a couple years ago. He said he's much happier staying away from posting. I'll take him at his word.
I sure wouldn't mind asking him a few questions on setting up my AK turbo on the 2.0 in the T for sure.
The World Famous Pintony! is still active with Pinto people, he's been to and helped on several Stampedes, he's been up here in Northern MN, California and I've been down to visit him a few times since he went offline. he's without a doubt an expert on the early Pinto's (71-72) but in his own words the 73 is a bastard child and the 74 and up might as well be called "Escorts" (LOL!) He's a great guy and yes, would give the shirt off his back if it would help. He is missed on the forums but really is his choice to stay offline. Pintony is one of the main reasons I started an online presence myself and helped me quite a bit in the early years.
it's unfortunate when opinions, tempers and personalities clash online... sometimes it gets ugly, in this case it did and Pintony did cross a line. I still remember the panic phone call I made to him when he did, long before I was anything more than just another member of FP.com, begging him to back off and let it go. When he didn't something had to be done and there was little choice left... a cooling off period was needed. It should be noted he was not the only one that took a hit during the unfortunate situation nor is he the only one missing in action since then. again... it's unfortunate when opinions, tempers and personalities clash online...
johnbigman I emailed you his contact info, Pintony is always happy to talk turbo's
That is a shame, sounds like he's a wealth of knowledge.
Cookieboy,
Thank you for what is a honest and well thought out reply. It seems Pintony (at this point) has elected to stay off this forum. If there are situations that cause him to respond in a negative way, we should all respect his efforts to avoid them. In that regard he is doing the right thing.
I'm sure we all miss his insight, but it seems if one needs to contact him, he is available and willing to help. For this we need to be thankful.
Tom
Gotta be careful what you say around here. I know. I questioned the right people in a manner that they felt was undesirable some time back and received quite a few negative ratings. In fact, though I have made several attempts to rectify with said individuals I have been met with fervent silence time and time again. Oh well, it's like any other group on the net - tick off the wrong people (even if there is no intention on your part) and you'll pay the price. Heck, I may garner negatives for even mentioning this, but I know better than to name names. Left a bad taste in my mouth, and I tend to spend a LOT less time out here now though early on I was very happy to share indepth reviews on my ongoing restoration with photos and details. That sure didn't help me in any way.

?? ?? ?? Chris ?? ?? ?? not really sure what you are talking about? and why you felt your comment was appropriate on this thread? It doesn't have anything to do w/you and is about a former member that chooses not to haunt "any" forums anymore.
I really don't know where your problem started, who it's with, what it's about, etc., but I have seen a few comments from you along these lines... I tried looking into it in the past, looking at old posts, and I'm still confused. if you feel the need to explain... please send me an email, happy to talk it over. cookieboystoys at yahoo dot com
please... let this thread end, all that needs to said, has been. As far as Pintony is concerned, he's good and well. He chooses not to be part of the online community, his choice at this point. Let is go folks, he's not the only person to have been a part of our fun and then choose to go offline, it happens.
I have only positive things to say about Pintony, he has helped me with many things on my Pinto. My positive comments would also apply to anyone else I have met through this board. I guess I would say FordPinto.com has been a great experience and I am all the better because of it!
