Title: Meet Marvin
Post by: FCANON on September 05, 2007, 11:10:43 PM
Thats right My wife named her wagon Marvin.
she sellected the stance and the wheel covers.
I pulled the car out for some before pic's ..soon the front end will be rebuilt and interior will be replaced.

I'm building a custom grill for her and my Daughters cars.

Funny thing it after the pic's I pulled the cars back to the house and Marvin lost a lower ball joint....it was funny. I wasn't p*ssed since I already bought new ones a while back.
My 72 is always happy to be in pic's.

Yes Marvin needs a bumper....and Other things.

I'm hoping to start on the front end next week.
Denise is buying carpet this weekend and get the cabin area ready for life.

I drove over to the lot with a open header, so if it doesn't rain tonight I will
connect the exhaust and wrap up the engine mods.

This is my busy time of the years so it  might take longer.

My Daughter is studing for her Drivers permit...geezzz.

Tell the Missus that I LOVE the stance on her wagon. It looks mean & nasty that way. Also the full moons look just right on it.

I have to agree... after we got back with the wheels and tires for the back I just had to stare at it and shake my head... it looks kinda kewl that way.
the Kids tell her they cant picture her driving it with the stance and the open header (LOL).. I'm putting 2.5 inch pipe to cancel out before the rear with a turn-down or exit out the passenger side with a simple Turbo muffler no cat.
What ever she wants.... that's how it will be.

Well its the weekend before the Tulsa meet and I am just getting back to work on Marvin.
So fare I have taken the dash mostly apart to give the vents and such a bath and trim the bits white a silver pen.
While I'm at it I hope to get the metal painted with some fresh color and finish sewing up the dash pad cover.

thats just the beginning.

Since i am teaching my Daughter how to do this with out doing it for her I'm showing here the steps as I do my wifes car. The Color is a metalic rustolium.
heres the color change. I primered the ashtray and the glove box then hit it with some pretty color.

Not sure yet.. I was expecting a slipped timing belt...
so by the tine I took the gear off and looked over the timing belt I had to go to the kids Baseball game...
but I'll have the engine out this weekend, if it looks too bad I'll put the a EFI motor in it, but thats not quite what we wanted to do.

well it seems I already had a motor apart so I can't dive much deeper into Marvin till this ones finished.
this is a sweat low mileage turbo block for my parts getter truck.
all my engines in the past have been black but these next two are going to be HOT ROD Red.
looks like Marvin will get the 2.5 bottom end...I'm still collecting parts and I'll have to see what is salvageable  hopefully the head is in good enough shape to be worked over with some over sized valves.

all the good stuff & 30 lbs of pressure....that will cure all!
