Title: idle problems
Post by: hoeser on August 29, 2007, 12:23:29 AM
I have a 71 pinto w/2.0. It runs fine down the road but when setting idling in drive or when comming to a stop it dies.  I have rebuilt the carb, checked the timing, new plug etc. and it is still giving me problems.  It almost acts like a vacuum leak but I have check and have not found any.  Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Hello hoeser,
It most likely the carb.
I had the same problems...
Find a NEW carb or send your carb to ponycarbs.com
I wish I knew their secret!!!!

I would bet their is a vacuum leak in the de-acceleration valve.
