Title: holley 350 on stock 2000 cc
Post by: neal martin on August 24, 2007, 02:44:24 PM
I was told this would be to much for a stock 2000, anybody have any opinions, I was told I'd need to change the cam ?
Let me know if you've tried it, thanks

I have one on mine, however the engine has been modified.

Don't see why it would not work with some fine tuning and a set of headers.

I tried the 500cfm Holley on a 2.0L NA street engine with mixed results.  I did not have a noticeable power increase or decrease, probably something else restricting the flow and/or the tune was way off (see below).  The engine did have headers, a mild cam, big valves, and some home porting.

To get rid of the bog, I increased the jet sizes.  This hurt economy by maybe 20%.  I see now that Racer Walsh sells a "carb restrictor kit" for the 350 and 500 Holley carbs for use on our four cylinder engines to eliminate the bog http://racerwalsh.zoovy.com/product/RWA1218 .
