My wife thinks i am crazy. Maybe she is right ::) I have found a way to make use of "unusable" parts. I am conferting a 12 hp Ford tractor into a pinto. I had to cut and reform some rusty fenders. used the best section of a broken grill. made a custom bumper. and designing a hood. eventually i will be adding a rear tail lights and some sheet metal. any way here is a picture as of now.
more pictures still trying to decide what the final color will be.
Slick Phil, keep progress pics coming. Never thought of this, but did think of something similar for a bed or my Grandson.
Dave
funny enough I'm working on something kinda simular.....

Ohh Man.. I needed a good laugh... that is really neat!
I like it! My vote for color would be the baby blue.
I agree with the Baby Blue. I like the front "Spoiler" or "Valance" which ever you would prefer it to be called.
Great job!!!!!

To quote the Long John Silver's ads... "That ain't natural"
Funny as all get out, but it just ain't right! Great work Phil.
How about welding some rear 1/4s to the fenders and climbing out like the Dukesz///
From Pintony COOL!!!!
At the end of July, the Edsel club put together a gathering in Dearborn MI to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the new (1958) Edsel. There were about 175 Edsels. The first Comet (1961) was supposed to be introduced as the junior Edsel, so the Edsel Club had invited the local Comet club (Comets East - www.cometseastcarclub.org/) to display their cars. At the back of the lot, there was a display of ~20 early Comets.
One Comet owner had a nice maroon '64 (I believe). He had build himself a matching maroon Comet motorcycle, complete with headlights, grille, fenders and taillights. Very much like what you are trying to build. I kick myself for not having taken a picture.
Thanks for the kind (laughter) words. Douglas & torbowagon blue is most likely the color but a darker/ bright blue .Pintony eventually the rear quarters will be there just want to finish up the front some more . I am not satisfied with the hood yet. i am using .07 aluminum to get an idea of what it will look like I have the hood from the car i may just cut and weld part of it to get what i want. the hood is only 10 in wide. the fenders are about 6 in shorter in the center and about 8 in cut from the back bottom. i will get more pictures as i continue

Hey Phil
That is the coolest lawn tractor Ive ever seen. And My wife says your wife is right were all nuts.
Awesome. That has got to be the most original pinto projects Ive ever seen.
That is cool looking. Are you gonna have any sheet metal where the doors would be? maybe keep the body line going but have it sorta like a jeep for easy exit. That would look cool
Smoking Crack doesn't seem to be too bad HAHA. I wold paint it black with a red hour glass on the back...

Do your neighbors come running out of their houses to advise you that your tractor might explode if it gets rear ended?
