Here is the Pinto I am starting to work on. It is a 2.0 C4. My goal is to have a daily driver and to use parts I already have in stock. I found the car 4 years ago two blocks from where I live. The guy bought the car but never drove it. He just put it his back yard on plywood under a tree for six years. He would start it and wash it from time to time but thats it. The car is very solid, never been hit, original paint but has rust in the doors at the lower corners. The hood and hatch are also rusting from the inside out but I have replacements in excellent condition as well as rust free doors. The rust is because the car spent the first twenty of its life in a beach community right on the Pacific Ocean. Stay tuned.

Hey Pintony,
My red Pinto is not the one in Barth's driveway. Last I heard Alberto bought that one and wants to make it a Sprint someday. Mine has the basic black interior that's pretty much shot. Here is a picture of the old dash pad and seats and then the replacements. The dash pad is a recovered one out of a past project. One of the guys here in Socal pulled these seats out of a 73 wagon in the wrecking yard about a year ago if you can believe that. The passenger seat has never been reupholstered and the drivers side has. Incredible find.

I hope to have many more days to explore the Pinto's next year when I attend Knottsberry.

Progress so far, I put a pair of shorter springs on the front that I had on another car for about 20 years. This lowered the front about 1 3/4". At the rear the left leaf spring has sagged about 3/4". I had a 3/4" block in stock so I put that on the right side to level the back end. This is temporary until I get new springs. Pintos also came with 2 1/2" or 3 1/2" spring shackels. The car had 3 1/2" so I swapped to 2 1/2". This got the car down an equal amount front and rear.
The wheels are steel 15x7 used on a Mustang police car in 1986. The tires are 225/50 in the back and 205/50 in the front. These wheels have a 1" negative offset so I used a 1/4"spacer to move them back out. They would not install without them. I will be installing thicker bolt on spacers shortly.

Looking good Bob!!!
