Driving between Modesto/Manteca into Plesanton I spotted a white pre 77 wagon on the side of the freeway. I was wondering if that belongs to someone on the board. The gang riding with me laughed as I freaked out when I saw it, but they know I love my gal. I didn't get all that good of a look at it as I was driving. Hope it gets running by whoever owns it.

Yesterday I was told that an Orange Pinto was in a town near mine...
It was a MONZA. ;D
I'm not sure who is the bigger fool the person that told the story or ME for driving over at WARP 9.8 to take a look ;D ;D ;D

I had a very similar experience just last week. I had taken several photos at the Dayton International AirShow and took the film (I am a traditionalist and still use a 35mm slr...) into the local photo shop for developing. I also had several photos of my Bobcat on the first roll, though I didn't remember it until I was looking at them in the shop. One of the ladies there said there was one of those cars for sale down the road about five miles, and that it was in really good shape. I'm out the door in about a heartbeat thinking it will be a cold day before I let one get by me in my own back yard. I drive for miles and miles and see nothing. I even called the camera shop back and spoke with the lady again. I drove the route four times and didn't see a car for sale anywhere. So, dejected and frustrated, I go back to work. A week later I'm driving down the same road, and there on the side of the road, parked in a yard with a big "For Sale" sign in the windshield, is a bronze AMC. The name of the thing escapes me at the moment, it wasn't a Pacer anyway. But it wasn't anywhere near a Bobcat...I had to laugh.

Could it have been an AMC Sprint?

to losin sux you will fairly close to ceres ca and my 77 wagon. any time you are in the area you can see me driving my wagon on the weekend. thanks chris f
Last night, August 11, 2007, I was at the American Cruisers "Shoes and Coats for Kids" show and saw an awesome 79 or 80 Pinto wagon there. They close the one main street by the mall and let the cars cruise up and down the street, burn-outs-a-plenty !! Anyhow, the Pinto wagon was painted dark blue with "Boss 302" stripes. It had a high rise intake with dual 4 barrels, norrowed 9 ich rear end, drag slicks, all the goodies !! And boy did it look and sound AWESOME !!! I wish that I would have remembered to bring my digital camera.

Turbo , it was a Spirit all right. I couldn't think of the name to save my life. One of my families I work with has a large collection of cars, and he has a Spirit in the driveway. He saw this one and considered it, but for now I guess he isn't going to get it.
I've always had a "thing" for the AMC Eagle SX/4....something about a 4wd hatchback with a Jeep motor.
Of course this may also explain my Subaru fetish too.
I think my wife is happy there aren't any Subaru BRAT's in the paper, or maybe one of those white four door wagons with the Winter Olympics logo down the sides... Otherwise I'd need another garage...

Hey Bob, I know that guy. He races in the UMTR (United Manual Transmission Racers) he lives by the Airport, he also has a 77 CW with a V-6. I believe that car runs in the 9's with the 503 BIG Block, he's also got a 460 for it, he calls that his Small motor!!!! :o

I'm hoping to make it out there to Brunswick again before the Snow flies. Although my Snowmobile club had there first meeting last night (Wed. Sept 5th) so once we start to clean trails, and do all of the activities such as getting permission to ride on the land, making new trails and so on I'll be busy......real busy. Well you know the saying don't ya "If you cant beat it, join it". I've grown up in Northeast Ohio my entire 33 years on this earth so when the weather turns bad I go Riding!!!!!!
I'm sure I'll see you out there once again, let me know when you are going out there. This Saturday?
