I think I'm gonna do it-----yeah, I'm talking about putting in a 302.
I mean, why not, the motor in it is out of a Ranger, so it's not original,
the car has some body issues(rust in the quarters, pinholes in the cowl, a REALLY bad bottom quarter replacement job by the previous owner)
it DOES have really nice floors and seats-
I'm gonna put ina 9inch rear if I do it-make it a dragway 42 fun car, doesn't have to be perfect, right?
What do yall think, are there enough V-8 Pinto's out there, or should this be the next pinto drag racer?
Absolutely- there is no such thing as too many V8 Pintos. Good luck on your project, post pictures of your progress. Joe in Morgan Hill (NorCal).
I don't think there are enough V8 Pintos...Ford should have offered V8's as an option when they were building the cars. Go for it...I did it and I don't regret it...except I need more HorsePower!!!!

V8s are ancient history! Joe Morgan's Turbo 2.3 mid 10s street legal, Huber what can i say stunning! J.D. in the 9s when ever wants to. And the list goes on.
Put a 2.3 turbo 5 speed you'll never turn back to a V8 on the street + the gas mileage issue today, you could have a strong running mid 11s pinto and knock off 25+ MPG and drive it everyday..
