Anyone have any tips on getting to the oil filter on a 77 Bobcat Wagon w/ a V6?
I cannot even see where it is! I bought the car for the 8 inch rear end and a/c setup and because I have always been curious how well the V6 runs. On paper, the v6 does not have that much more horsepower or torque it seems to me, but this car is pretty peppy! Had a bear of a time getting it to pass Calif Smog Check though. Service access on the car is not real great either- had to remove the battery and alternator to get at the right side spark plugs. Also, the fuel pump failed, and I gave up removing it, and installed an electric pump!
Anyhow, if anyone knows the easiest way to get to the oil filter, I will be grateful to know it.
thx

first you have to cuss at it alot, then set the frontend up on jack stands and reach up between the engine and cross member and almost break your arm and wrist trying to spin it off while cussing so fast and loud it makes your voice hoarse and the neighbors wondering if you need help or not. and while your arms are numb and fingers are slippery with oil, somehow manage to install the new filter after throwing wrenches angrily enough to crack the pavement. and after the first few oil changes you take it to the mechanic to have the oil changed.
to whoever deceided to place the oil filter where it's at, :ih8u:
