The Pinto and I had fun this weekend....
A Parade on Saturday and Car Show on Sunday.
Lot's of shouts of Pinto! at the parade. I'm somewhat well known here in town so lot's of shouts and waving. Never been in a parade before, it's lots more fun than car shows ;D
90+ cars at the car show... and must admit I hate hearing "I thought they all blew up." I finally got to the point with people who thought it was funny to say something like that I would just look at them and not even bother to respond. I did however get to talk to lot's of nice people who really liked the Pinto and all-in-all is was fun.
Awesome Brian!
Did I tell you I love that car? Brings back such good memories of my first car, a red '71. And I have always coveted that hot pants kit, have dreweled over the brochure that shows a car just like yours for years. Glad to hear you had such a great weekend with her. That's what it is all about!

Hey Brian,
I keep a fire extinguisher with me and put it in front of my Pinto at all the shows.
It seems to keep the Smart A$$ coments to a minimum.

P.S. I really like your show board!!!
Thanks Dave and Tony.
Dave... hopefully the Hot Pants Kits can be a reality for those who want them. I have talked to map351 and he will be getting one of the 2 kits I purchased and if there is enough interest...
Tony... so that's why you had the extinguisher at Tulsa. I should have worn the free hat I got with my Sony stereo... Has a big red X on it and says Xplode. I'll do as you suggest and wear my hat next time to put me in the right frame of mind for them comments. Most of the comments made were positive... I had one too, my first car, looks good and so on, mostly from the spectators. It's the other people with cars in the show (big V8's and muscle cars) that make the negitive comments. However the couple with the VW Bug behind me (the only other non-v8 car at the show) came over and chatted for a bit.
I slapped that show board together the morning of the show. has the hot pants article, some pics of the car during the restore process, The Pinto lineup at Dave's house in Tulsa (just to prove I'm not the only one with a nice Pinto) and of course the PCCA Logo. Lots of looks and comments and I will keep it for future shows.
