Title: anybody speak T-5?
Post by: dholvrsn on July 14, 2007, 01:37:40 PM
I just got a T-5 transmission for a 2.3 Ford. I'm trying to figure out the specs, especially the OD ratio. The tag reads:
(inverted delta) E7ZR - 7003 - AA        REP  AP
L3 - 52 - 162       38237     D2073

How hard is it to replace the input shaft without some pesky needle bearings and their ilk scattering all over the place?

Also may need a shift lever and knob in the near future.....

Thanks!

I used a Shifter Lever & Handle out of an 87 TC. It's also the same a Mustang. It worked just fine.

I've only got the one set that is on my car, but I'll take a look around and see if I can scare up a set for you.

I had the stock shifer on mine, slightly modifed to use the stock Pinto boot, but it's angle was too far forward for me, and it was a little too tall for the boot. I had to pull the tranny back out for a different reason so while I had it out I modified the shifter to lower it and pull it back. I like it much better, but if I need to remove the carpet again I will bring it back just a little more.
