If that doesn't work go to autoblog.com and search.
You can probably find lots of links and pictures by searching "24 hours of Lemons"
I hope this isn't a double post. I had problems with a picture attachment before.
More on the 24 hours of LeMons.
There is one team running 3, yes 3 Pintos! The team is called Squadra.
Anyone know who this is? It looks like they all made it through the first day. They all placed in the middle of the pack of remaining cars. The second and final leg is Sunday.
Darn, they are having a 24 hours of Lemons in Flatrock, Michigan. It's near my home. I wish I could enter but I am still in China. I should be back to catch a little of it though.
Anyone else gonna try??? You have a couple more days to register.
You can pick up a Merkur on the cheap.
Go to www.24hoursoflemons.com for details. I could not access the page for a link, they were probably updating their web site from the race.
Picture of the Squadra under $500.00 Pintos

looked like more than a few of the vehicles were certainly in violation of the $500 rule.
I liked the custom helmet clearance in the roof of the car & driver entry. looks like he spent 500.00 on it alone HAH HAH!!!!!
little thunder
I am kinda sad that Squadra's #42 Pinto was a half hatch. You can see it in the middle of this picture:

Yea, that $500. thing make me wonder too. That hatch is worth that, and a running MR2, 280Z, CRX?? I guess if they got those cars free...
What was that, an 'enduro' race?
At the local track I ran at in the X-car division, the track could buy your car for $500. at any time (less the seat, fuel cell, harness, window net, battery and a few other things). This was to keep people from spending much because the cars had to be fully stock, but most did anyway. I got my car for free, and got the cage for free, so I know I was well under that amount. I know of several people that spent between 3 and 5K on engines alone, just to have my fully stock (and fully legal) Saturn fly past them.
