could someone post pics of the sway bar attaching points.
I just bought a 73 V8 wagon conversion basket case that had a sway bar in the back seat. the end links apear to connect to the rear strut rod bolts but the front may have been cutout with the original 4 cyl mounts
Thanks Guys

On the '80' (and other years I believe) they attach to Lower Controll Arms IN FRONT of where the Strut Rod mounts on the L.C.A. For the Frame Mounts, they were Brackets that bolted from the underside of the front frame rails. If I get the chance I'll take a couple of pics tomorrow.

My 73 sedan has a bar from a 76 v6 bobcat wagon. All I had to do was drill a few bolt holes.

turbowagonman,
thanks for the pics.  :tfrules:
just to clarify, are the brackets bolted to the frame w/3 bolts pinto or ranger? they look like they belong on the pinto.
My SB has a single bolt/stud going up from the bushing.
perhaps a difference from early to late?
Thanks again

the 76 I have has a channel shaped bracket in the front strut bolt hole exactly as you refer.

the 73 wagon has some mickey mouse bolt arrangement in the rear strut bolts that look they were put in when the sway bar was removed. there is nothing that appears to be where the sway bar would bolt to the  frame side. that is what I'm most interested in seeing pics of.

Thanks for the assistance guys

I'm sorry it took so long for me to get some pics BUT I finally went out and did it. Your right, my "Sway Bar Bolts" do go through the Front of the Strut Rod. After reading what you had said I remembered Welding the Bolts to the Bracket itself due to the Bolt Spinning in the Bracket.
In these pics my Sway Bar Mount (around the Bushing) is from a 2002 Ranger that I had to "Customize" to make fit my "Application". I've got a freind that works at a Ford Dealership in the parts Dept and I took a Bushing up to him and that is what he sold me, with knowledge of knowing what I am capable of.
I hope this helps!

pintoy, the brackets that bolt the Sway Bar to the frame (three bolts) are for the Pinto. The Ranger "Brackets" I was refering to are the ones that go around the Bushing. I was not aware there were a different Mounting bracket for the early to late Pinto's, eventhough that does not suprise me because they changed the suspensions in '74'.
