ok, this sint exactly about pinto's but its about cars, and a gauge. well my friend and i are putting in an air/fuel ratio gauge on his 05 cobalt SS (supercharged) and was wondering which cable on the O2 censor is the signal cable? there are four wires: 2 white ( i assume there the heater wires), a gray wire (i assume the ground), and a black wire ( i assume the signal wire). i assume black is signal and not ground because most of the stuff i ahve read said the signal cable is black or purple. now if this is correct, please correct me if im wrong, does it matter where the "signal wire" on the gauge goes into the signal wire on the O2 censor? i hear you need to put it a few feet away from the plug for interferance issues with the O2 censor and the computer, but then i ahve heard that it doesnt matter as long as the splice is solid. any help would be appreciated.
I don't have a Cobalt wiring diagram handy, but that's what you should have. I for one wouldn't feel comfortable telling you what color wire Chevy decided to use that year on that car. I checked AutoZone for a diagram and they didn't have one yet, but a Chilton's should.
I also checked places for a diagram, chiltons doesnt have one, no body does but the factory/dealership. So i think thats where we have to go to get a diagram for it and pay a crap load for it too, probably.
