A few questions to those who are far more experienced than I... :drunk: (couldn't find the "I'm not worthy" smiley...)
When I install my 'new' turbo, where do I now get vacuum for my power brakes?
same as it is now it doesn't need to change. if you are worried about blowwing back into the diaphragm then get a check valve to put into the line. in any case if you're on the binders you are probably NOT on the boost
If you are running a carb., hook it up between the carb. and the head. For EFI, between the T/B and the head. Brake boosters have a checkvalve on them from the factory, just make sure it is still working. Installing a second one like we did is a good idea too.
We have power brakes in Connie's car and it's fine; I plan to put them in the Tan turbo car.

Something I should probably have mentioned is that I'm leaning toward a draw-thru setup.
Thanx, to both of you, for the info!
Sorry, I should have asked.
I would think you would need it between the turbo and the head.

How's this for an idea...
Since I'm going draw-thru, wouldn't it be more sensible to tap on the intake side of the turbo (like the carb base) for the vacuum source? Even with a check valve or two in the brake booster ine, it seems strange being able to get a vacuum from a pressure source.
I think I'm going to try to source a vacuum amplifier/accumulator to plumb inline with the booster unit to ensure quality negative pressure in the system.
The turbo engine works in this way, when you under acceleration your under Boost as soon I MEAN AS SOON as you lift off the gas you are under Vacume. So you should get your vacume from the Intake side of the motor.
For your Brake Booster, all you should have to do is run a Vacume Tree, put a Check Valve Before the "Tree" and another before the "Booster" if you want to run a double Check Valve system.
I've got several "Trees" of different styles, I'll ship you one FREE if you pay the shipping. Let me know and I'll post pics of the different styles I have and you can see which one will work for you.

Thanx. I never really considered it that way. If it works for the rest of you, I'll just go that route!
