Title: What Radiator is in your Turbo project
Post by: duffro on June 13, 2007, 12:04:31 PM
Hey all,
I need to know what Rad. you guys are running.  I am hoping to run a production
piece out of something else rather than spend a ton of $ on an aluminum one.
Thanks,
Duff

I had my Stock Pinto Rad. recored with a High Efficancy 3 Row. The Cooling tubes are also 3/8" in dia.
On my first pinto I had them use a GM Core that was a Cross-Flow and they mounted it Vertical.

In my 78 Mustang (I know it's not a Pinto) I'm currently using a really thick aluminum radiator from an Explorer that I got from the junkyard.  Some custom radiator hoses and now I don't even have to run my electric fan :).  It fits in there really nice after a little bit of cutting.

If you were refering to me, the "Shister" who ripped me off had a set of tanks that were off of some other car that were the right size and "made" them work. The ONLY problem was the guy, who came recommended, Soldiered the mounting tabs (for the Core Support) to the Core itself. The Core Seperated after Three years. It wasn't leaking, the Outer Rows stayed put but the Inner Rows moved into the Engine Compartment. Needless to say I didn't go back after the first Experance. I had a guy that I Snowmobile with, who works at a Radiator Shop, make my second one. Looks great and hopefully it will make it so cool (Anti-Freeze) my fan is only on when I turn it on.
