Title: Junkyard performance.

Just curious if anyone has thought about starting a thread listing what parts you can get form other makes and models that will bolt in with little or no modification.  Like rear ends, breaks, axels, engines, etc.

I have been learning as much as I can on this subject as I am building a couple of race cars on a real shoestring budget.  See 24hoursoflemons.com .  The GM enthusiasts have gotten this down to a science, I just built a hot rod '65 Buick and you can practically throw Camraro brakes and suspension at the thing and have them stick!

-So far I have fitted my Pinto with an SVO motor and gearbox.
-A Mustang II 8" rear axle with mini spool
-Later model larger calipers, Though I hear that the Granada setup is the way to go, but then you have to switch to 5 lug wheels.  Any of the 8" rear axle 5 lug axles will work but if you buy the GM pattern Granada rotors and have your axles drilled to match you have a wider selection of wheels.
With a total expendature of about $250!

What I want to figure out is what radiator to use.  I have seen normally aspirated Pintos witht the cheap and available VW Sciorocco radiator, I don't know if this will work for me.  I have also read the v6 Ranger rad is good but the ones I see in the junk-yards look pretty narrow.
Anyone else??
