Title: 1980 V8 Pinto
Post by: 302PintoMan on June 06, 2007, 02:14:53 PM
I have a 1980 Pinto that I bought that already had the conversion done.  And a damn good conversion at that.  my question is...I can find aftermarket hoods for Pinto's up until the 78 body style, but not the 79-80 one.  Different headlights, grille ect....   Anyone know of a site that list aftermarket hoods for a 1980?  I need a taller air cleaner hence a taller hood and would rather have a 3 or 4 inch cowl on a fiberglass bolt on hood or lift off.  Hell any hood with any type of scoop.

See the threads below.  Only one listed a hood for the 80 model the ad is suspect (same hood for 71-80.  I recommend talking to them and have them send you photos before purchasing.  You may have to add a cowl to your stock hood.

Was the 80 Pinto a white Pinto on Ebay?   It had frame connectors, lexan glass, and a stock 70s 302 with a 2 bbl?  It looked like a sleeper except for items like the glass straps. If it was, it really looked like it was done right.

It sure was hard not to bid on that one.  I still have my kids college bills & was in Hong Kong at the time.  It would have made a perfect 2300 or Cosworth YB-T car.
